A 4th Grade Presentation at Hammock Pointe Elementary in Boca Raton, Florida took place on November 21, 2025.
Students heard a presentation about how I was inspired to write the story "SCREECH His Hunt for a Home".  A few writing strategies were shared -- incorporating details to elaborate and the use of transitional words to help with the sequence of events.  The students were also made aware in the presentation of how some of Florida's native animals are losing their habitats due to land development and how we can help.  After the presentation, the students each made a precious owl craft to take with them as a memento.
