HELLO!
Hi, my name is Screech, and this is a story about my search for a home in desperate times.
There has been so much destruction of our woodland habitat since I was an owlet. Now I am a fledging juvenile, searching to find just the right place -- safe and spacious enough for my future family. We are carnivores, so there needs to be plenty of critters around for me to bring to my coming family -- and there are so many other things to consider!

Hey y'all! My name is Pam Lanzi, a proud native Floridian who enjoys learning, especially about things in my home state. I had the privilege of working with elementary students for 35 years in Palm Beach County, mostly 4th graders in which we would learn together the entire school year about Florida's natural environment and its extraordinary history. We read together historical fiction books that would all relate to Florida and the students all had a better understanding and appreciation of Florida, and more importantly, a love for coming to school and learning!
I am so excited to have published my very first book! It's a book about something that I've just recently gotten very passionate about due to having an Eastern Screech Owl living right in my very own backyard!
SCREECH His Hunt for a Home is a fictional book about one of Florida's five owls that is based on true events -- exaggerated just a bit AND with numerous facts about Eastern Screech Owls woven throughout the story.
